The Psilocybe cubensis is also known as Stropharia cubensis, Stropharia cyanascens or Stropharia caerulescens, but the most common name is the ´Mexican mushroom´. This big mushroom has a yellow head, which can be 1,5 to 8 centimeters in diameter and a stem of 4 to 15 centimeters long. The Psilocybe cubensis is very easy to grow, and is one of the most famous ´magic mushrooms´ used in the world. There are more than 117 secies of the genre Psilocybe. Mostly named after the country they were discovered. This sort of the Psylocibe cubensis was first discovered in the Philipines.
The Psilocybe cubenis grows best on cow manure.

Effects
After ten minutes to one hour you will start to notice the first effects. The mushroom eater notices a rapid change in the perception of daily reality. This quickly comes down to a good series of laughs. This cheerful start soon transcends into confused feelings. This is due to reality looking so different, your mind just cannot grasp it. Some people see through a blue or green haze during this stage. However, this quickly changes into a clear vision. You will see and hear better and more intensely. You become godlike in your own body. Many people will have visions or hallucinogenic experiences. The nature of the trip depends upon the person taking it and the mood/state of mind that person is in. So your experience could very well be quite different from what you read here or hear from other people. The trip takes about 6 hours and wears down gradually. The interval between hallucinations gets longer, until they disappear completely. The active substance in the psilocybe cubensis is psilocybine, this substance increases the dopamine level in the brain. This is what causes you to trip.Mushrooms produce an experience similar to LSD but with a different signature. Most people feel more relaxed tripping on mushrooms than taking LSD. The mushroom trip last mostly five to seven hours. The most hallucinogen and visual part of the trip is taking place during the first two hours. Two grams should produce a mild psychedelic high, five to 10 grams should produce a stronger trip, simular to LSD. The potency of different batches of mushrooms varies, usually within a range of 10% up and down. Mushrooms lose potency with age (about 25% in six months.) They will keep much longer if stored in an airtight container in the freezer. The best way to use mushrooms is chew and eat them. This doesn´t taste that good, so a more tasteful way is to make tea by boiling the mushrooms 20 minutes in some water. Add one or two teabags, and sweeten with honey or artificial sweetener (no sugar). Then you can drink the tea and also eat the mushrooms safely. Another more tasteful way to consume these mushrooms is by using them to make a an omelette. Take the mushroom on an empty stomach, so do not eat 4 hours before the trip. During the trip drink enough water, fruit juice or caffein free tea. Use the mushrooms in a quiet, safe environment and with people you feel comfortable with. During the first hour of the trip you may feel a little sick. This feeling disappears when the psilocybin really starts doing its work.
